Modern Language professor speaks to a prospective studentThe third annual CU Denver Career Center Majors Fair was held today in the Auraria Events Center. The fair is designed to give students who are undecided or unsure about their major a chance to learn about all the great opportunities that CU Denver has to offer.

Students could stop by any of the 25 booths to chat with both academic advisors and professors.

Jonne Kraning, director of the Career Center, said, “The professors have been great. Even if they only had one hour to spare, they are here providing great coverage and information to students.”

The event was open to all students on the Auraria Campus including Metropolitan State University and Community College of Denver students. “We want everyone, including the public, to know about the great opportunities here,” said Kraning.

“For the CU Denver community, we invited all first and second year students, anyone undecided and anyone on probation to attend the Majors Fair,” Kraning said. “We have come to realized that if a student is on probation it might mean they are in the wrong major.”

Some of the department tables also included multiple major options such as in engineering, there are multiple degree paths under that umbrella.

The event was co-sponsored by First Year Experience and Student Success.

“We want to give students all the information that they need to make the right choice for a major,” Kraning added.
