Mona Abaza, MD, MS, associate professor of otolaryngology, has been elected to the administrative board of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS).
CFAS identifies critical issues facing faculty members at medical schools and provides a voice for them. The council practices four main initiatives, including a program called, “Best Practices for Better Care,” which aims to put “proven practices in place to ensure safer surgeries, reduce infections, and cut hospital readmissions.”
The position on the administrative board extends Abaza’s other responsibilities with outside organizations and committees. She is also active in many committees through the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
