CU President Bruce Benson addressed a range of issues during a Town Hall Meeting Oct. 24 in the Lawrence Street Center.
Faculty and staff were on hand for updates on budgets, the CU Foundation’s Creating Futures $1.5 billion Campaign, as well as programs and developments unique to the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus.
On money matters, “We have to be entreprenuerial,” said Benson. “We’re going to continue talking to our legislators about what we’re going to do for the future of our university.”
In a positive vein, Benson noted that the capital campaign already is at $1B as we’ve had four of the best years ever for fundraising.
Outreach and communication through the System also are moving forward to increase the university’s visibility and opportunitites, said Benson. He encouraged individuals to participate in the new CU Advocates program.
Benson also talked about important new efforts including the CC to CU Denver Admission Promise recently announced, the advertising/marketing campaign now in progress featuring partnerships, progress on the new Business School and various facilities projects at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
The next Town Hall Meeting with President Benson is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 3 p.m. at the Anschutz Medical Campus in the Ben Nighthorse Campbell Building.
All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.
