Edwards works for CU Online as an academic technology coordinator supporting maintenance of the academic tech systems such as Blackboard and Adobe Connect. But there’s another creative side to Edwards involving film and music.

Edwards, (photo left) his brother Justin (photo right) and their father (center) recently were in Los Angeles for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences annual College Television Awards ceremony.

Michael Edwards was recognized for the original music he composed and recorded in partnership with his brother and friend Andrés Diaz for their short film Come Back To Me – link to view the film on Vimeo.

“Come Back to Me” tells the story of a young man who seeks to win back the love of his life by learning the guitar and singing his way back into her heart.

The team collaborated across the miles. Edwards said his brother lives in Los Angeles, “while Andrés and I are here in Denver. We collaborated on the music over the Internet with me handling the production/mixing of the songs.”

Justin produced the film as a student project at the American Film Institute Conservatory, where he was earning a masters degree (he has since graduated).

But the brothers are keeping busy. “Since completing work on ‘Come Back to Me,’” Michael said, “my brother and I have also collaborated on another creative endeavor. We’ve published an ebook for the iPad called The Pseudobook. It’s full of humorous stories, essays, and jokes.”
