Snow is on the ground, temperatures have dipped and holiday festivities are on everyone’s calendars. On the Denver Campus, this also is the season of finals with commencement set for this Saturday morning at the Colorado Convention Center.

The Office of Student Life again organized “Finals Boost,” which offers a chance for students to relax a little as they complete course work and prepare for their final exams.

To help ease the stress, students could take advantage of free massages during the two-day event in the North Classroom atrium. It was a welcome treat for one graduate student who remarked, “Getting a free massage during finals is the best.”

The overall atmosphere of the Finals Boost was fun with lots of laughter. “It is nice to have this outlet when you’ve been so stressed for the last week or two,” said Ryan Aarons, undergraduate senior.

Students also could grab a cup of coffee, juice, snacks and even supplies for taking their final tests, such as pencils and scantrons (exam answer sheets).

Many students were amazed that such a thing would be offered. Sophomore Lyndsay Baker said, “We can just grab stuff? This is so great!” She added, “It’s things like this that make getting through finals a lot easier.”
