They are inviting students, faculty and staff to help shape this important effort that will help our students fulfill their dreams of earning a college degree.

New scholarship program at CU Denver
An exciting new comprehensive scholarship program is being developed at CU Denver to help our students fulfill their dreams of earning a college degree.

The goal of this campaign aligns directly with what we’re all about here at CU Denver: elevating the success of our students. Without question, addressing financial need is a significant part of helping our students succeed and graduate from Colorado’s public urban research university.

The Office of Advancement is forming a steering committee that will be chaired by Andrea Wagner, Vice Chancellor of Advancement. The committee will include 8-12 individuals who will make recommendations regarding the campaign goals, timing, focus and desired outcomes. The group will meet approximately every two weeks during the April-September planning phase, and monthly thereafter for implementation.

Please indicate your interest in serving on this committee by sending a 2-5 sentence explanation of why you would like to be involved and what perspective you would bring. Send this in an email to andrea.wagner@ucdenver.edu by March 31. Selection of the group will be made by April 14.

“We are very enthused about this targeted campaign, and hope you will consider serving,” Wagner said. “Broad campus involvement will ensure that the campaign is well-conceived and executed. Even if you don’t serve on the committee, we encourage you to get involved in the campaign in other ways once it launches.”

Here’s an outline of the steering committee’s roles and responsibilities.

Though our students’ stories are all unique, they share some common threads: perseverance, a commitment to learning, and the desire to follow through on a dream. For many, scholarships provide the one missing element they need to follow through on that dream. We are eager to begin this effort to increase scholarship support at CU Denver and thus to provide more opportunities for our students’ success.
