Melanie Shellenbarger, senior instructor of Architecture, whose book High Country Summers: The Early Second Homes of Colorado, 1880–1940, is a finalist for the 2013 Colorado Book Awards in the History category. The annual awards recognize the accomplishments of Colorado’s outstanding writers, illustrators, editors and photographers for books published during the previous year.
The winners will be announced June 21 at the Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival in Aspen.
Finalists will read from their works on Thursday, April 25, 6 – 9 p.m. at the Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place. Tickets are $7; reservations are encouraged. For more information, see Colorado Humanities website.
