If you have been out of the loop for a few weeks enjoying the summertime weather, you might have missed that the University of Colorado Denver is competing in a city-wide competition for social media.

The Denver Business Journal’s Social Madness challenge has been raging since mid-June and the University is now in the finals. The competition started out with 100 local competitors and has now been cut down to only six, two in each of the three size categories.

University Mobile and Social Media Manager Chad Reiling has been the driving force in the success. “The University saw the challenge as a great opportunity to show our constituencies that social media is another valuable way they can connect with us,” Reiling said.

The next step is for everyone to take a few seconds and vote, the voting is open for two weeks – till 10 p.m. on Monday, July 16. The voting process is very simple and will take no more than 30 seconds. Just follow these easy steps to click over to the bracket, click large companies on the top, click VOTE under the University of Colorado Denver, enter the captcha and click submit vote.

There are also several other ways that you can help the University win this competition. You can ‘like’ the University’s Facebook page, ‘follow’ the University on Twitter, and ‘connect’ with the University on Linkedin.

If the University beats out DaVita in the Social Madness finals we will advance to a national level competition.

Social Madness, presented by Capital One Spark Business, wants to allow businesses an opportunity to showcase their social media growth strategies in a fun tournament-style challenge.
