Provost Roderick Nairn is pleased to announce the appointment of Callie Rennison, PhD, as the Title IX Coordinator/Director of Equity for the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus. She officially started her new position on Monday, March 6.
Rennison succeeds Nelie Viveiros, who had served as interim coordinator in the university’s Office of Equity. The role is primarily responsible for leading efforts to maximize compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and federal guidance as they relate to civil rights discrimination. The position has purview over equity programs at both CU Denver and CU Anschutz Medical Campus, which include investigating and preventing student sexual misconduct and violence as well as educational programs.
Rennison joined the CU Denver faculty eight years ago in the School of Public Affairs. She will continue in her faculty role as professor, but will no longer serve as Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs in SPA.
In 2016, Rennison was awarded the Bonnie S. Fisher Victimology Career Award from the Division of Victimology in the American Society of Criminology. She has also served on a National Academies Committee examining domestic sex trafficking of minors in the United States and was a Senior Researcher at the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics.
Please join us in congratulating Callie on her new role and wishing her continued success.
