A few students in the College of Arts & Media have enjoyed recent success in making names for themselves in Denver, the United States and abroad. The students, using their both their CU Denver academic programs and connections to the city as platforms, are excelling in their educations and careers.
Chloe Tang, a dual citizen in both the United States and Canada, was recently awarded The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent On Recordings (FACTOR)grant. FACTOR is a Canadian government-run program that gives grants of all sizes to not only musicians, but to all positions in the music industry. The grant will help Tang financially as she pursues her career as an independent artist, Chloe Tang Music.
Livy Snyder, who is majoring in both studio art and art history, has been awarded the highly competitive Guggenheim Fellowship to travel to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum – Venice, Italy to further her pursuit of a career in the arts and museum fields. She is also an intern at the Denver Art Museum’s Modern and Contemporary Art Department and the Emmanuel Gallery.
Brendan Bell, performing under the alias Covex, was recently named best DJ/Electronic group in Denver by 303 Magazine. Check out his Facebook page for upcoming shows, including a show on March 29 at the Larimer Lounge.
